History of Otoshidama

     Hello, everyone! Did you enjoy the last winter vacation? I do hope that you had a good time during the New Year. Today, I will write about the origin of Otoshidama  (お年玉).    　Why Japanese adults give their money to children on the New Year's Day? It is said that this custom had been related to "Year God(Toshigami-sama,歳神さま in Japanese)," who had been worshiped in each family during the New Years holidays. People worshiped Toshigami-sama because they believed that the God brought abundant grains to people. Also, people thought that they could be health and make a lot of grains during the year if they gave rice cakes, which were made for the God, to their family or servants.      Japanese people thought that the rice cakes were sacred things. Therefore, it is said that people called the rice cakes "rice cakes like gems( 玉( Tama ) のような餅)." Ushida Mountain Hiking

 Hello, everyone.  Today, I'm going to talk about climbing mountain. Have you ever been to hiking? You may think that it is simple activity to climb mountains, but the simple activity is a little hard to complete and very fun. On this weekend, I participated in Gunsu Hiking Group which regularly hold mountaineering, and I climbed three mountains; Hutagami Mountain, Onaga Mountain and Ushida Mountain. The range of generation in the group is very large, maybe from 5 years old to over 70 years old, so I could experience precious communication with group members. I think that if I join a group which includes only young people, I would have not undergone such communication. To be honest, I was very nervous because I haven't took part in such a group and I feel that I am poor at communication. My impression to Haruki Murakami

 Hello, everyone. Today, I'll introduce a famous writer in Japan.      His name is Haruki Murakami. Have you ever heard his name? He is one of the top writers in Japan and won a lot of prizes in novel's field both in Japan and other countries, so I think that some of you have known him. I am going to write my impression to his novels in following passages.     First of all, the most unnormal thing in his novels is that characters have some problems of his/her humanity or how to live. They have some secret, painful past, or current problems which is difficult to solve. For example, a woman was regarded as an ordinal parson, but she finally committed suicide because she became depression. Also, one heroin is a killer, and a hero is a ghostwriter in his novel.
